Gingerbread House Candy Store in Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby!
I have a special holiday tip for you. There is a 16-foot Gingerbread House that is a candy store! It is so exciting to see and is located in the lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa®. I love to purchase a roof shingle, which is a large piece of gingerbread shaped like the gingerbread house roof. Then I like to sit down. It takes a while for everything to soak in. It is so very magical in the lobby. There are lots of Christmas Decorations, an extra large Christmas tree, and during certain times of the day, there is an orchestra playing. I cannot believe the tender loving care which goes into the decorating of The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa’s® Lobby. It is overwhelming when you first walk in and see the decorations, tree and gingerbread house. Next, you can smell the gingerbread, oh it smells so good! When the orchestra is playing it is like the cherry on top of ice cream!

This is such a treat to visit here during the Holidays. This is on my “do not miss” things to do. I usually call to see when the orchestra is playing and then plan when I would like to go. There are also Photo Pass Photographers in the lobby to take photos in front of the large tree. This is somewhere I like to spend more than thirty minutes at. I could stay all day but, only stay a couple of hours. Yes, I really do stay a couple of hours just in the lobby but, there are also many places to eat at too. Take my tip and do not miss this you will really enjoy it here it is filled with bright pixie dust!
During a Walt Disney World® Resort vacation, there are many miles of walking involved. I go into several Rides for Resting. I am not as young as I used to be and have a hard time navigating a park from opening to closing anymore. There are many rides in this park I call resting rides. The rides are also air-conditioned. Since the Florida heat can rise into the 90’s air-conditioning is a must! In the winter you might need to warm up or just rest. The Magic Kingdom has so many attractions now it can take two days or more to see it and enjoy. If you go around the park counter-clockwise below are the seven rides I use for resting at The Magic Kingdom.
Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress
It’s a Small World
The Hall of Presidents
Country Bear Jamboree
The Enchanted Tiki Room~~Under New Mangement
Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover~~(Some Air-Conditioning)

I love the Magic Kingdom it is my favorite park. It gives me the feeling of coming home any time of the year! It stole my heart on the first visit. I get that warm feeling as soon as I walk down Main Street. I love the smell of the pastries, the sound of the train wheels clacking down the track, the breeze blowing my hair, feeling free from worry just like Walt wanted. It is so joyful just to walk down Main Street USA! When I ride these rides it helps me to keep rested and cooled during the day. I know they are not the Magic Kingdom’s “E” ticket attractions but, it contributes to relaxing along the way. It makes the magic and pixie dust more fun!!
I just love character meals with the Disney Dining Plan at The Walt Disney World Resort. These are some of the reasons why I love Walt Disney World® Dining Plan which will help you when you are planning your Walt Disney World® Resort vacation!
I love having my food paid for before I go on vacation! It is great for your budget.
Children under 3 are FREE!
I love having the refillable mug! It is also a great souvenir!
I have to admit I love all of the wonderful deserts included! It is such a treat. If I do not eat them at the meal I take the deserts to the room for a snack later.
I love to eat at the Character Meals, which is a great deal on the Disney Dining Plan. Also, it is so fun and exciting when the Characters come to your table for photos and Autographs! When my son broke his arm the Characters signed his cast!
Food is a very important part of our Walt Disney World® Resort vacation!
You can enjoy the different restaurants and experiences which come with the meals and not have to worry about the bill!
It makes unforgettable memories!
These are just a few of the reasons I love the dining plan. Do not forget there are many different plans and prices to choose from. Buy the plan and pay for it in advance then eat what and where you like! I really enjoy it and you will too! The memories will last forever!
The pictures above are when my son was almost two. He grew up with Character meals and me as a mother have all of the magical memories to share. I wanted you to see the memories as children grow up going to, The Walt Disney World® Resort. It makes me want to cry time goes so fast! Enjoy your special moments.

I was pleasantly surprised about Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort! It is the one value resort on the property. I have never stayed at this resort before. This was my first time and I just really enjoyed it, loved the colors, the VO5 shampoo and the old-time alarm clock. The family suite at Cabana Bay Resort is about twice as large as a regular hotel room. It has a small living room with two chairs a pullout couch, television and a small little kitchen. The kitchen has a microwave sink coffee maker and also a small refrigerator. In the little kitchen there is also a small counter with two counter stools. In between the living room and the bedroom is a doorway that slides shut so the rest of the family sleeping in the living room has a privacy door. Everyone has to share one bathroom but there are three places for people to get ready. The first place is the has a toilet and a door but, is very small. The second place has a sink and a mirror. Then there is a separate room with a shower and bathtub combo with a sink in that room also.
For dining there is pizza delivery to the room and several other places to eat:
Galaxy Bowl Restaurant
The Hideaway Bar & Grill
There is also a couple of more places for drinks and cocktails:
The theme at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a retro 50’s theme. The pools are extremely nice and include a lazy river. The bus service was very quick. Everything at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort was much more than I had expected for a value resort. The price is very reasonable but you do not receive the Unlimited Express Passes like you do at the other resorts on property! This is a very important perk of the other Hotels.
