Gingerbread House Candy Store in Disney’s Grand Floridian Lobby!
I have a special holiday tip for you. There is a 16-foot Gingerbread House that is a candy store! It is so exciting to see and is located in the lobby at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa®. I love to purchase a roof shingle, which is a large piece of gingerbread shaped like the gingerbread house roof. Then I like to sit down. It takes a while for everything to soak in. It is so very magical in the lobby. There are lots of Christmas Decorations, an extra large Christmas tree, and during certain times of the day, there is an orchestra playing. I cannot believe the tender loving care which goes into the decorating of The Grand Floridian Resort and Spa’s® Lobby. It is overwhelming when you first walk in and see the decorations, tree and gingerbread house. Next, you can smell the gingerbread, oh it smells so good! When the orchestra is playing it is like the cherry on top of ice cream!

This is such a treat to visit here during the Holidays. This is on my “do not miss” things to do. I usually call to see when the orchestra is playing and then plan when I would like to go. There are also Photo Pass Photographers in the lobby to take photos in front of the large tree. This is somewhere I like to spend more than thirty minutes at. I could stay all day but, only stay a couple of hours. Yes, I really do stay a couple of hours just in the lobby but, there are also many places to eat at too. Take my tip and do not miss this you will really enjoy it here it is filled with bright pixie dust!

Walt Disney World’s® Boardwalk Inn and Villas is like stepping back in time to the older day’s of an Atlantic seaside resort. It is a very large hotel, and entertainment complex. The atmosphere really takes me back to a dreamy bygone era and I feel like I am really there. My family and I just love to stay there. When I was a little girl I can remember going to the Boardwalk in Atlantic City, New Jersey one time. I can still smell the cotton candy, and see the lights in my mind. This is what Walt Disney World’s® Boardwalk takes me back to. There are so many special things there. First are the Friendship boats which run to Hollywood Studio’s and to the back of Epcot. They are so very nice to ride. I count them as a ride in themselves. The boats are not on a track and are really launched and docked. They run about every 20 minutes. It is very relaxing to ride them back and forth. The buses run everywhere else.
The pool has a clown face at the end of the slide and is called “Keister Coaster” made like an old wooden roller coaster! It has a very nice pool and slide. There are many new activities and games at the pool for children. I thought it was really fun as I was watching! I just love The Boardwalk Inn and Villas!
There are several restaurants on the Boardwalk to eat at:
- Boardwalk Bakery
- Big River Grille & Brewing Works
- Boardwalk Pizza Window
- ESPN Club
- Flying Fish Café
- Trattoria al Forno
- There is also a candy store called, Seashore Sweets
At night there are street entertainers, and surrey bikes to rent to ride around. There are twinkle lights all around the buildings and it is only a short walk to see Illuminations at the bridge. It looks so pretty with the lights and buildings all around. There are also carts with hot dogs and other treats for sale.
I love to visit Walt Disney’s World’s Boardwalk Inn and Villas at the holiday’s if I stay there or not. This past December my family and I were looking at the decorations and Mickey and Minnie came to visit in their holiday suits! It was such a great surprise! I love the decorations and now there is also a small gingerbread house to purchase goodies! It has been there a couple of years. I always think of the holidays in July! It is one of my favorite times to visit the Walt Disney World® Resort and Disney’s Boardwalk.
If you are not sure where to stay or want to try a deluxe resort or even something new you will not be disappointed with Disney’s Boardwalk Resort. It is just fabulous to stay there! I love it!

Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party!
Let’s all go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! It really snows on Main Street! My son and I love to go to this party! First, I want to let everyone know the lines are small during this party because Disney only sells so many tickets and it is sold out. Yes, I have seen it sold out before so if you are planning to purchase your tickets pick your date.

We love all of the different treats which are included in your ticket price. This is a separately ticketed event. There are different treats at different locations inside the park. We just happen to love the snickerdoodle cookies! They are so good! Any treat is better at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. I think it is that special feeling of merriment in your heart from just being there.
The parade and fireworks are our favorites. Of course, I know everyone likes those but, they are special during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! And the snow on the Main Street makes the Party super fun. We live in Florida so that is the only time we see snow for the year! And there is a lot of snow on Main Steet! (Of course, it feels real!)
Also, during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party are dancing, and singing by the different Characters which are dear to our hearts. It makes it very exciting when you are with your family!

There are also many different photos you can have taken with Memory Maker. They add special “Magic” into the photos all of the time. There are also special borders and stickers you can use on your photos. This makes an extra special memory and I cherish all of my photos as my son grew up with me at The Walt Disney World ®Resort and with this special party, Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. This party will bring joy into your heart and memories for years to come!

During a Walt Disney World® Resort vacation, there are many miles of walking involved. I go into several Rides for Resting. I am not as young as I used to be and have a hard time navigating a park from opening to closing anymore. There are many rides in this park I call resting rides. The rides are also air-conditioned. Since the Florida heat can rise into the 90’s air-conditioning is a must! In the winter you might need to warm up or just rest. The Magic Kingdom has so many attractions now it can take two days or more to see it and enjoy. If you go around the park counter-clockwise below are the seven rides I use for resting at The Magic Kingdom.
- Walt Disney’s Carousel of Progress
- Mickey’s PhilharMagic
- It’s a Small World
- The Hall of Presidents
- Country Bear Jamboree
- The Enchanted Tiki Room~~Under New Mangement
- Tomorrowland Transit Authority People Mover~~(Some Air-Conditioning)

I love the Magic Kingdom it is my favorite park. It gives me the feeling of coming home any time of the year! It stole my heart on the first visit. I get that warm feeling as soon as I walk down Main Street. I love the smell of the pastries, the sound of the train wheels clacking down the track, the breeze blowing my hair, feeling free from worry just like Walt wanted. It is so joyful just to walk down Main Street USA! When I ride these rides it helps me to keep rested and cooled during the day. I know they are not the Magic Kingdom’s “E” ticket attractions but, it contributes to relaxing along the way. It makes the magic and pixie dust more fun!!
