Why to Use a Travel Agent to Book your Walt Disney World® Resort Vacations!

This is a guest post from my friend Amy Hessel~~Owner of Just a Spoonful ofSugar she explains ten reasons in this post why to use her as a travel agent instead of booking your Walt Disney World® Resort vacation yourself:

Why use a travel agent for Disney when I can book it myself?

I get asked pretty frequently why anyone would book their vacation through me, when they can just do it themselves online. The short answer is that when you book with your local travel agent, you are supporting a small business, versus booking directly with Disney. It doesn’t cost anything extra to have me book a vacation than what it does when you go straight to the site, however, you are helping me to grow my business, and support my family when you book through me.

The long answer covers so much more though! Here are 10 reasons why you should book with me!

1. I will help you go through all the resort and dining options to find the best fit for you and your family.

2. I will research the best week for your family to go to Walt Disney World for the time of year you are interested in going.

3. Once you have booked your vacation, I will stay up to date with all discounts and promotions, and if one is released that you qualify for, I will re-book your vacation at the lowest cost possible.

4. I will set up your airport transfers with Magical Express, Disney’s free transportation, that takes you from the airport to your resort.

5. When you book with me, you are dealing with the same person from the beginning of the planning process, all the way through returning home from your trip. No waiting on hold, or dealing with several people to solve a problem!

6. Want to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party? No problem, I will order those tickets for you.

7. I will help you navigate the My Disney Experience website to link your tickets and reservations, plus help you customize Magic Bands

8. For those who use the included Basic Planning Package, I will send you reminders for when you need to book your dining reservations, Fastpass+ reservations, and a final payment due reminder. (Our Essentials Package will be discussed in another post!)

9. I will help you decide if the Memory Maker is a good option for you, and if so, add it to your package.

10. I provide you with a guide to help navigate the parks, as well as general recommendations and touring suggestions.

Planning a great vacation to Walt Disney World can take hours of time. If you would rather leave it to the professionals, leave a comment below, and I will be happy to help you create a magical vacation for your family!

Capone’s Dinner Show A Big Bang For Your Buck

Capone’s Dinner Show is a big bang for your buck! It is located in Kissimmee, Florida. If you are looking for something different this is it! It is a gangster themed dinner show. It is a blast from the past! While you are there keep your eye out for the all notorious gangster Al Capone on the stage! This hysterical show is a combination of laughs, gangster action, singing, dancing, and audience interaction. It is fun for the whole family!

Your adventure begins in a turn of the century ice cream parlor where your party will knock three times, say a secret password and enter Gangland Chicago 1931… I will not tell the password! The joint’s crawling with coppers on account they are serving illegal bootleg alcohol… you see prohibition hasn’t quite been repealed yet. But don’t yous fear – the “family” is keeping an eye out for the coppers. Miss Jewel, Al’s gal, is your hostess and M.C. for the festivities. She sure is talented and beautiful. Miss BunnyJune is their very own ditzy blonde and headdancing girl. Fingers Salvatorio is the goofiest mobster you’ll ever want to meet. A colorful cast of crazies at Capone’s dinner theatre guarantees a great time. Handsome mobsters and gorgeous dames shine in this unforgettable production with nonstop surprises, a gangster shootout (with a chance to win prizes) and a hilarious ending sure to knock your socks off. It’s hard to find something that everyone can all enjoy with a wide age spread (6 to 63). Capone’s Dinner and Show truly is fun for everyone from 2 to 92!

They have changed the buffet and have Italian and American favorites in addition to a meat carving station. At the meat carving station, you will enjoy steak, stuffed pork tenderloin and, moist turkey breast It also includes a salad bar. The food is phenomenal!

Also included with your meal are unlimited drinks. Your choice of Bud Light Draft, 3 wine selections, 3 cocktail choices, and lots of non-alcoholic drinks to choose from. Usually, at a dinner show cocktails are not included but here 3 specific ones are. The others are extra.

Capone’s Dinner Show is one of my favorites to see. Your family will be walking the walk, talking the talk, and humming the songs when the night is over. You really get so much with this dinner show! It is $35.46 for adults and children are $22.56 when purchased online. Children under 3 are FREE! If you are looking for a family fun night out give this show a try! My family and I just love it and have been to it several times.

Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort

I was pleasantly surprised about Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort! It is the one value resort on the property. I have never stayed at this resort before. This was my first time and I just really enjoyed it, loved the colors, the VO5 shampoo and the old-time alarm clock. The family suite at Cabana Bay Resort is about twice as large as a regular hotel room. It has a small living room with two chairs a pullout couch, television and a small little kitchen. The kitchen has a microwave sink coffee maker and also a small refrigerator. In the little kitchen there is also a small counter with two counter stools. In between the living room and the bedroom is a doorway that slides shut so the rest of the family sleeping in the living room has a privacy door. Everyone has to share one bathroom but there are three places for people to get ready. The first place is the has a toilet and a door but, is very small. The second place has a sink and a mirror. Then there is a separate room with a shower and bathtub combo with a sink in that room also.

For dining there is pizza delivery to the room and several other places to eat:

  • Bayliner Diner
  • Galaxy Bowl Restaurant
  • The Hideaway Bar & Grill
  • Starbucks®
  • Delizioso Pizza

There is also a couple of more places for drinks and cocktails:

  • Atomic Tonic
  • Swizzle Lounge

The theme at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a retro 50’s theme. The pools are extremely nice and include a lazy river. The bus service was very quick. Everything at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort was much more than I had expected for a value resort. The price is very reasonable but you do not receive the Unlimited Express Passes like you do at the other resorts on property! This is a very important perk of the other Hotels.
